About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparing weekly cash flow forecasts and working with the finance team to produce weekly management accounts.
  • Conducting monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and creating and processing monthly journals.
  • Assisting the financial controller with the month-end closing process, including VAT returns and financial reports.
  • Providing variance analysis and producing financial KPI reports to support business decision-making.
  • Collaborating with senior staff members on various tasks, including budget preparation, management account analysis, and liaison with external auditors.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Work experience as an Assistant Accountant or similar accounting role.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and familiarity with finance regulations.
  • Strong math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage).
  • Excellent organization skills and the ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
  • A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
