**Financial Accountant Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our international recruitment group. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in managing our financial operations.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • General Ledger Management: Manage and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and up-to-date.
  • Central Costs Allocation: Calculate and allocate central costs to each group company, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee and carry out accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and reconciliations.
  • Management Accounts: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, providing insights into our financial performance.
  • Close Processes: Support month-end and year-end close processes, liaising with external accountants as required.
  • Bank and Finance System Reconciliation: Reconcile items within the bank and finance system, allocating to the correct group company.
  • Cashflow Forecasting and Budgeting: Prepare cashflow forecasting and budgeting as required, working closely with senior management.
  • Payroll Inputs: Prepare payroll inputs for payroll providers and obtain senior management approval.
  • Commission Calculations: Calculate and process commissions for recruitment consultants based on individual performance metrics and company policies.
  • Commission Payments: Ensure accurate and timely payment of commissions and bonuses.
  • Commission Records: Maintain detailed records of commission structures, calculations, advances, and pay-outs.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Financial Insights: Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for decision-making.
  • Management Reports: Assist in preparing management reports and presentations.
  • Financial Processes: Put in place any financial processes required and ensure financial controls are in place and adhered to.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant finance and tax laws and regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes and systems.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Perform ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as required.

**Qualifications and Experience:**

  • Accounting Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or other prestigious degree.
  • Accounting Certification: Accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACA).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience post-qualification in financial accounting, preferably within the recruitment or staffing industry.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Accounting Software: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero QuickBooks, Sage or similar).
  • Excel Skills: Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modelling.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
