Main Area: Electrical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance and installation work within our acute and community NHS properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out electrical maintenance and installation work on medium voltage main distribution systems, emergency power generation, lighting, door access, air conditioning, data, nurse call systems, and other low voltage equipment.
  • Work as part of a team and individually to ensure the smooth operation of our electrical systems.
  • Join an on-call team to provide an out-of-hours emergency response after an initial training period.
Person Specification:
  • Full apprenticeship or equivalent approved training.
  • NVQ3, BTEC, or equivalent.
  • Driving licence (B).
  • CP/AP training in related subjects.
  • City and Guild qualifications in relevant subjects.
  • A recognised health and safety qualification (IOSH, etc.).
  • A qualification in access control/lifts/electronics.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Experience of safe systems of work in an electrical setting.
  • Experience of BMS systems.
  • Experience with A/C plant.
  • Experience of hospital systems and equipment, policies, and procedures, especially HTM's and relevant DOH guidance.
