Position Overview

PIMCO is on the lookout for a Portfolio Associate to contribute to the Global Desk, with opportunities available in our Dublin or London offices.

Role Responsibilities
  • Support Portfolio Managers by fostering relationships with Account Managers, Product Managers, Legal and Compliance teams, Operations, and other Portfolio Associate teams across the organization.
  • Utilize fixed income expertise to monitor portfolios and market conditions, aiding Portfolio Managers in assessing risk and managing client assets.
  • Encourage innovative solutions and develop essential tools and reporting mechanisms to bolster the Portfolio Management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure investment objectives are accurately reflected across relevant portfolios.
  • Monitor portfolio positions and products in alignment with client guidelines, collaborating with the Compliance team.
  • Coordinate with Portfolio Management on portfolio rebalancing efforts.
  • Employ proprietary risk management systems to oversee portfolio exposures.
  • Assist in managing account transitions and cash flow.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and attribution analyses.
  • Address ad-hoc inquiries from the Portfolio Management team.
Candidate Requirements
  • A degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field from a reputable university or equivalent experience.
  • A comprehensive understanding of fixed income, including familiarity with various cash and derivative instruments.
  • Exceptional communication skills to navigate a complex financial and mathematical landscape.
  • Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of SQL, Python, and programming skills is advantageous.
  • A strong process-oriented mindset with keen awareness of portfolio risk and operations.
  • Outstanding analytical capabilities with a proven track record of efficient problem-solving in high-pressure situations.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in international markets.
