Job Title: Assistant Warehouse Manager

Department/Section: Strabane

Report to: Warehouse Manager

Main Purpose of Job:

Assist with managing all warehouse department activities to ensure operational improvements and efficiencies are maintained on a day-to-day basis. Ensure accurate data exchange with customers and production teams. Develop and implement procedures to improve storage and retrieval of goods. Produce reports and statistics to monitor performance and achievement of targets. Support with organizing team schedules, handling staff issues, and authorizing annual leave. Manage department-specific initiatives and implement root-cause analysis to improve processes. Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and housekeeping compliance. Perform inventory controls and maintain quality standards for audits. Make recommendations to aid efficiency and add value.

Key Responsibilities:

Person Specification:
  • 3 years experience in a management position, preferably in manufacturing, retail, or fashion.
  • Hands-on approach and confident in managing a large team in a busy environment.
  • At least 2 years experience of staff management.
  • Proven track record of managing a team during a period of expansion and continual growth.
  • History of managing Health & Safety in the workplace with particular experience of good practices.
  • Ability to create costing spreadsheet involving multiple Excel formulas.
  • Computer literate with excellent working knowledge of office software applications.
  • Self-starter who can manage their own time and seek and execute activities that add value to their function.
  • Well-organized, methodical with a keen eye for detail.
  • Confident and able to deal with senior management effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment and to be deadline-driven.
  • Have a can-do attitude and friendly outlook.
  • Engaging style that engenders contributions from others.
  • Clear communication with clients and candidates both verbally and in written format.
