Job Title: Consultant in Palliative Medicine

We are seeking two enthusiastic Consultants in Palliative Medicine to join a creative and committed multi-disciplinary specialist palliative care team at the St Margaret of Scotland Hospice.

About the Role

The successful candidates will be based at the St Margaret of Scotland Hospice, working 7 sessions, and each post holder will work on a rotational 3 session basis in the Vale of Leven Hospital (Clyde Sector, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde) and the South Sector (NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality palliative care services to patients in the hospice and acute sector.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and expand the specialist palliative care service in the Vale of Leven Hospital.
  • Contribute to the education and training of undergraduate and postgraduate students in palliative care.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives in palliative care.
  • Hold an NHS Consultant Contract and an Honorary St Margaret of Scotland Hospice Contract.
Requirements

Candidates should be on or be eligible for inclusion on the GMC specialist register for Palliative Medicine or be within 6 months of gaining the CCT from the date of interview.
