Heavy Vehicle Technician

Bennett & Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a skilled Workshop Service Engineer to join their team in a leading specialist fleet hire and management company in the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Service and repair a wide variety of vehicles, including refuse vehicles, skip-loaders, tippers, trucks, and roll-on roll-off vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and inspections on HGVs to identify any faults or defects.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and perform repairs as necessary.
- Carry out servicing and preventative maintenance tasks according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and promptly.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Provide assistance and support to other members of the workshop team as required.
- 3+ years of experience as an HGV technician, Workshop Engineer, or similar role with an understanding of the HGV industry.
- HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent.
- Class 2 licence preferred.
- Experience in the Waste/Recycling industry desirable.
- Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices.
- Salary: £42,690 (OTE £45k - £50k+).
- Working hours: 6am- 3:30pm Monday - Friday one week, 12:30-10pm the next week (Late shift every other week).
- Holiday Package: 25 days + 8BH.
- £100 retainer for late shift (£20 a night allowance).
- Overtime available.
