Product Line Manager - Strategic Optics

Edmund Optics, Inc. is a leading manufacturer and supplier of optics, imaging, and photonics technology. Supporting numerous markets around the globe, including advanced diagnostics, semiconductor & electronics, machine vision, automation, and R&D; our products are used in a variety of applications ranging from DNA sequencing to retinal eye scanning to high-speed factory automation.

We are seeking a Product Line Manager for Strategic Optics to join our team in York, UK. As a key member of our Strategic Optics team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a product strategy that is consistent with our technological vision and core competencies. This will involve improving customer acquisition and retention efforts and ensuring the profitable growth of our standard and custom product business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a product strategy for Strategic Optics that aligns with our technological vision and core competencies.
  • Improve customer acquisition and retention efforts through effective product management.
  • Ensure the profitable growth of our standard and custom product business.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, marketing, R&D, sales, applications engineering, and design engineering to develop objectives, presentations, and financial proposals for new product initiatives.
  • Manage and mentor Product Line Engineers and Applications Engineers in their roles while delegating product line responsibilities through the team.
Requirements:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in optics and product management. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field, and at least two years of experience in application engineering, manufacturing engineering, product line engineering, and/or managing products in the optics field.

The successful candidate will have strong optics product, manufacturing, and technology knowledge, as well as high-level personal initiative, strong analytical skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong presentation skills. They will also be able to manage a heavy workload of multiple concurrent projects and priorities at once, and have excellent problem-solving and creative thinking capabilities.
