SME Electrical Engineer

Salary: £61,662 plus 10% annual bonus

Location: Home based with site travel

Outsource UK's client is a global Oil/Gas/Bulk liquid storage and distribution firm seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to act as Technical Authority for electrical systems and equipment. The successful candidate will:

  • Identify and mitigate risks to safe operation, ensuring compliance with relevant electrical engineering codes and standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to projects, operations, and maintenance teams.
  • Develop and implement plant modifications, preparing designs and specifications for new electrical systems and equipment.
  • Manage site electrical equipment, including HV/LV switchgear, air, vacuum, and oil systems, hazardous area cabling, and containment/junction boxes.

This role includes responsibility for all electrical equipment/system performance standards and the role of Designated Electrical Competent Person under Electricity at Work Regulations. The successful candidate will also:

  • Provide assurance to the UK & IRE Engineering Manager that the MOC process is applied correctly.
  • Lead in the identification and scoping of projects and plant modifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership with significant electrical system design experience.
  • Experience in load lists, SLDs, cable sizing, fault level, protection grading studies, and motor starting calculations.
  • Specification of equipment for installation in hazardous areas.
  • Risk Assessment, Site Commissioning, and Troubleshooting experience.
