Are you a compassionate, driven individual who thrives in dynamic environments?
Interested in joining a Trust that prioritizes your professional growth and development?
Eager to acquire new skills while making a significant impact in the lives of others?
If you are dedicated and empathetic, with a passion for assisting others, our Clinical Support Worker (CSW) position could be an ideal opportunity for you.
The CSW role is shaped by your commitment and enthusiasm. While it may present challenges, it is equally rewarding. If you are ambitious and keen on career advancement, we will provide you with the necessary support, including access to various paid training programs. Many of our nurses and clinical leaders began their careers in the NHS as CSWs and were nurtured by the Trust to advance.
CWP has embraced the Living Wage. Where the standard Agenda for Change hourly rate falls below the Living Wage, compensation will be adjusted accordingly.
Key ResponsibilitiesOur CSWs play a crucial and esteemed role within our workforce at CWP. A common trait among our CSWs is their daily embodiment of our core values: Care; Compassion; Commitment; Courage; Communication; and Competence.
You will collaborate with adults facing learning disabilities as part of a dedicated and supportive team. Admissions are typically short-term for individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs, necessitating a period of intensive assessment, treatment, and/or therapy within an inpatient setting.
The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication skills and the ability to foster relationships with both colleagues and patients.
Through your care, you will positively impact patients with learning disabilities and complex needs, as well as their families, on a daily basis.
You will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication abilities, build rapport with those around you, be diligent, and embrace challenges. Comprehensive training will be provided for all aspects of the role, allowing you to acquire new skills.
As the ward operates 24/7, the 11.5-hour shifts will encompass both daytime and nighttime hours, including weekends (Days 07:30-20:00 and Nights 19:30-08:00).
Consider joining our team at one of our Assessment and Treatment units for adults with learning disabilities.
Working with UsCWP delivers health and care services to local communities, encompassing mental health, learning disabilities, community physical health, and all-age disability care, including the operation of three GP surgeries.
Our mission is to empower individuals to reach their full potential, adopting a compassionate, person-centered approach in all our endeavors. We have recently received an Outstanding rating for Caring from the Care Quality Commission, with an overall Good rating.
We offer a diverse range of roles at various levels, so whether you are beginning your career or seeking to leverage your skills and experience in a new position, CWP is the right place for you.
CWP is dedicated to ensuring our recruitment practices are inclusive for all. We are committed to promoting equality and diversity while fostering a culture that values differences.

We encourage applications from individuals with direct experience of utilizing our services.
Detailed Job Description and ResponsibilitiesFor comprehensive details, please refer to the job description.
Our recruitment selection processes are based on competencies and values.
CWP seeks individuals who can exemplify the Trust's Values and Behaviors in their daily lives. Therefore, if you are invited for an interview, you will participate in a Values Based Interview/Assessment , which will explore not only your actions but also your motivations and reasoning.
Before applying, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with the Trust's Values and Behaviors, known as 'the 6 Cs': Communication, Competence, Courage, Care, Compassion, and Commitment. Your application should reflect your understanding of these values and associated behaviors. You will be expected to provide examples from your work experience and/or personal life that demonstrate these values through your actions.
An applicant guide to assist you throughout your recruitment journey is available on our website. If you require further assistance with your application, please reach out to our recruitment team.
If you have a disability that meets the criteria outlined in the Equality Act 2010 and can demonstrate that you meet the essential criteria specified in the person specification for an available position, please indicate 'YES' to the question: 'Do you wish to be considered under the Guaranteed Interview Scheme?'
Please inform the team of any special support needs you may have during the interview and selection processes.
CWP is proud to be an accredited Veteran Aware organization, committed to providing exemplary NHS care for our armed forces community. As a veteran aware organization, CWP is dedicated to upholding the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant and has received a 'Silver' award from the MOD Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (DERS).
The Trust offers a Guaranteed Interview Scheme to any armed forces community applicants who meet the essential criteria for the position and encourages applications from armed forces reservists or cadet force adult volunteers.
Please note that applicants will be responsible for the cost of their DBS check, which will be deducted from salary following appointment. You are encouraged to enroll in the DBS Update Service, which incurs a small annual fee.
New entrants to the NHS will start at the minimum of the stated pay scale.
We advise applicants to apply early, as we reserve the right to close the vacancy if a high volume of applications is received.
