About the Role

This is an exciting new opportunity to progress within an operational capacity within the NHS. We are seeking enthusiastic registered professionals who can undertake the role of Team Lead within the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST).

The MHST's work in partnership with schools and colleges to support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of young people. As a Team Lead, you will be responsible for supporting with recruitment, sickness and absence management, roster management, and providing an efficient, effective, comprehensive, and specialist MHST service for children and adolescents.

You will also be responsible for completing assessments and treatment of children and adolescents with emotional and mental health problems, their carers/parents and families. Additionally, you will undertake a range of generic clinical work, guided self-help, targeted group work, and workshops under the Whole School Approach (WSA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Support with recruitment, including review of job applications, interviewing, and planning induction packages.
  • Sickness and absence management, including return to work meetings, staff wellbeing meetings, and referrals to occupational health.
  • Roster management, support with annual leave requests, flexible working requests, and study leave.
  • Provide an efficient, effective, comprehensive, and specialist MHST service for children and adolescents.
  • Complete assessments and treatment of children and adolescents with emotional and mental health problems, their carers/parents and families.
  • Undertake a range of generic clinical work, guided self-help, targeted group work, and workshops under the Whole School Approach (WSA).
Person Specification

We are looking for a registered professional with a graduate training background, such as nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or clinical psychology, with appropriate registration with a professional body. You will also have experience of working with children/young people within mental health provisions and providing supervision.

Desirable qualifications include experience working with and in educational settings. You will also have knowledge of legislation in relation to children and adolescents and safeguarding procedures and policies, as well as the ability to monitor and assess risk and act accordingly to ensure safety.
