Senior Neonatal Care Practitioner

Overview: The Neonatal Transport service is an integral component of the Specialist Transport and Retrieval Service for Scotland, known as ScotSTAR. This service encompasses various critical care transport operations, including neonatal and paediatric retrieval, emergency medical retrieval, and air ambulance services.
Role Expansion: The Neonatal Team is seeking to enhance its workforce of Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (ANNPs) and is looking for dedicated professionals to join their ranks.
Opportunities: Qualified ANNPs, either holding a Master's degree or pursuing this qualification, will have the chance to advance their role within the distinctive environment of the Neonatal Transport Service.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to provide advanced clinical care to neonates and their families. This role requires both collaborative and independent decision-making skills. Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging in educational initiatives and audits.
- Supporting quality improvement projects.
- Providing clinical leadership and undertaking some managerial responsibilities.
Qualifications: Applicants should possess extensive experience in neonatal intensive care, specifically in a level 3 unit, and have prior transport experience.
Transport Methods: Most transfers are conducted using dedicated road ambulances, with a limited number utilizing fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft.
Work Environment: The position will be part of the West and East ScotSTAR teams.
