Role Overview:
Medacs is seeking a driven Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to join our esteemed team. This role offers a unique chance for the right individual to engage in therapeutic practice, academic pursuits, and research initiatives.
As a Consultant in Adult Psychiatry, your expertise will be vital in delivering high-quality psychiatric services. Together, you will strive to understand the challenges faced by patients and take a leading role in formulating comprehensive management plans, utilizing your therapeutic skills to guide patients towards recovery.

Main Responsibilities:
As a Consultant in Adult Psychiatry with Medacs, your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting assessments for new referrals, providing therapy, or coordinating with psychology colleagues for appropriate interventions.
- Developing care and treatment strategies, prescribing various treatment modalities, and offering guidance on evidence-based practices.
- Supporting patients and their families by clearly communicating clinical information regarding diagnoses and treatment options.
- Collaborating with patients and the multidisciplinary team to facilitate shared decision-making.
- Leading and participating in multidisciplinary team efforts as appropriate.
- Assessing and prioritizing patient needs, effectively delegating tasks to others.
- Monitoring and reporting on patient conditions and any changes to the multidisciplinary team.
- Performing essential administrative tasks, including maintaining records, writing prescriptions, and overseeing treatment plans.
- Contributing to the education and training of junior doctors and other team members.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) or equivalent qualification.
- Possession of CCT or CESR at the time of interview or within an established training program.
- Inclusion on the GMC's Specialist Register or eligibility within six months of CCT or CESR (CP) at the time of interview.
- Recent NHS experience within the last three years.
