Job Responsibilities:
- Handle a diverse caseload of childcare matters
- Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients in all aspects of childcare law
- Communicate with clients, opponents, courts, and third parties to progress files
- Advocate at court
- Support other family advisors on their cases and contribute to the departmental strategy and business objectives
- Manage and supervise paralegals, delegating work and facilitating their professional development
- Ensure compliance with internal and external business requirements, including quality control and regulatory standards
- Monitor and report on financial and business performance, delivering work in a profitable manner
- Contribute to internal continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing
- Support inter-departmental collaboration on joint files, projects, and events
- Contribute to the development of the departmental business plan
- Build positive relationships with clients and enhance the firm's profile to drive business growth
- Contribute to business development, including training events, articles, and marketing initiatives
Requirements:
- 2+ years PQE Solicitor
- Strong advocacy and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage a busy caseload and work under pressure
- Commitment to providing a high standard of client care
- Previous experience within a childcare family department is essential
- Accreditation as a Children Panel Member is desirable
- Proven competence in IT skills, including case management and other systems
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Good client care skills, providing professional and competent legal advice
- Proven experience in handling own caseload, managing deadlines, and generating fees
- Good writing and drafting skills, with excellent communication and technical ability
