Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraeducator to join our team at Kensington Parkwood Elementary School. As a Paraeducator, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs, particularly those with Autism, in a structured educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in implementing instructional programs and supporting student learning
  • Work individually and in small groups to reinforce instruction and monitor student performance
  • Provide instructional and classroom management supports to teachers and other professional staff
  • Perform related clerical tasks to support teachers and other staff members

Requirements:

  • AA degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • College coursework in education-related fields, such as behavior management and instructional strategies, is preferred
  • One year of experience working with students in structured educational settings is preferred
  • Or, at least 48 college credits and two years of experience in an education-related field, including preschool, adult day programs, after-school programs, or school/non-school-based departments
  • Or, two years of experience in an education-related field, including nursery school, adult day programs, after-school programs, or school/non-school-based departments, and successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment with a qualifying score of 455 or higher

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position with a schedule of 70 hours bi-weekly. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
