About the Role

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a Comms and Engagement Officer to join the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) team. As a key member of the organisation, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing targeted engagement and communications plans to support the Defence Mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage with various stakeholders, including employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Collaborate with the Engagement and Communications Manager to create and disseminate engaging content, including articles, marketing materials, and event planning.
  • Source and publish stories of interest to the wider workforce, leveraging your excellent people skills and ability to write engaging, informative, and relevant content.
  • Manage and maintain websites, blogs, and social media platforms to ensure consistent branding and messaging.
  • Provide support to colleagues in prioritising, nurturing, and building stakeholder relationships to expand the DIO's impact and influence.
Requirements
  • High standard of written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor content to various audiences.
  • Excellent grammar and proofreading skills, with experience in managing websites, blogs, and social media.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft SharePoint, Sway, and Teams, as well as Adobe Creative Suite Systems, including Photoshop, Premier Pro, and InDesign.
  • Ability to work proactively across multiple projects and collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • Willingness to travel to DIO sites to support communications and engagement outputs.
