This position is a unique opportunity at Crisis Skylight Birmingham, where you will work alongside a skilled team committed to assisting individuals in securing long-term, stable housing.

Position Overview

As a Housing Acquisition Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional property acquisition services within both the private and social rental markets. Collaborating with our team of lead worker coaches, you will identify suitable matches between tenants and available properties. This role demands a blend of commercial insight and creativity as you engage with both social and private landlords, as well as our members. You will work in partnership with various stakeholders to ensure that tenants receive the necessary support to maintain their homes and foster positive landlord relationships. There is significant potential for professional growth within this role, and you will receive ample support to tailor it to your strengths.

Candidate Profile

To excel in this position, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Proven experience in sourcing, procuring, and managing accommodation to benefit both tenants and landlords.
  • In-depth knowledge of the housing market in Birmingham and its surrounding areas, including the challenges and opportunities faced by individuals transitioning from homelessness to housing.
  • Familiarity with housing legislation.
  • Ability to develop and sustain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Experience in a lettings and housing procurement setting.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Resilience in navigating challenging situations.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
