Health and Wellbeing Advisor

The Occupational Health and Wellbeing Team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Health and Wellbeing Advisor to join their team. This exciting opportunity will enable the successful candidate to make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of staff members.
Main Duties of the JobThe role of the Health and Wellbeing Advisor will be to guide, educate, and support staff members in improving their physical and mental health. This will involve developing knowledge, skills, and confidence to change health-related behaviours, ultimately enhancing their overall quality of life.
The successful candidate will work to reduce health inequalities and develop health information in various ways to ensure staff have a comprehensive understanding of good health and healthy lifestyles.
Working for Our OrganisationSouth Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff, which includes a leadership development programme and a Quality Improvement Programme. The successful candidate will be expected to attend these programmes, which aim to:
- Explore leadership within the NHS
- Promote Trust Values and Behaviours
- Develop leadership effectiveness and skills
- Equip staff with the skills to champion, lead, and complete quality improvement within their roles
The successful candidate will possess:
- Specialist knowledge of Health and Wellbeing and current national and local policies relating to wellbeing
- Knowledge of weight management, healthy eating, alcohol awareness, smoking cessation awareness, and the National Health and Wellbeing Agenda
- Ability to develop and facilitate workshops
Desirable criteria include:
- MECC training
- Coaching experience
The successful candidate will hold:
- Registration as a nurse or midwife
Desirable qualifications include:
- Teaching qualification (ENB 998, City and Guilds 730, Cert Ed) or experienced trainer with a history of delivering sessions to NHS staff
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of delivering healthy lifestyle advice on a 1-1 and/or group basis, translating health improvement knowledge into practice
Desirable experience includes:
- Knowledge of models of behaviour change to increase activation to make positive changes
- Experience as a trained Health Advocate
- Experience in delivering immunisations
