Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Domestic Assistant to join our team in Perth & Kinross locality. As a Domestic Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively as part of a team or independently, including lone working, to ensure the delivery of exceptional cleaning services.
• Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues, patients, and visitors.
• Respond professionally to unpredictable situations, demonstrating adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
• Complete domestic-related paperwork accurately and efficiently.
• Display awareness of basic health and safety and infection control principles, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Perform tasks in a methodical and organized manner, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
• Follow instructions and guidance from supervisors and colleagues.
• Participate in mandatory training, both online and face-to-face, to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Carry out a range of duties safely and competently, including walking, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, and lifting, utilizing appropriate aids.
• Cope with working in busy clinical and non-clinical environments, including areas with increased heat, secure units, and areas with distressed patients.
• Work in environments that may be classified as infected, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
• Maintain a professional approach and demeanor at all times.
• Understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality and adhering to data protection principles.
• Be willing to learn and adapt to new situations and challenges.

Working Environment

As a Domestic Assistant, you will work across various sites and areas within NHS Tayside, as required. You will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure the delivery of exceptional cleaning services.
