Job Title: Early Years Practitioner

Job Description:

Role and Responsibilities:

As an Early Years Practitioner at Allied Healthcare, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational and care experience of young children aged 2-4. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Curriculum Planning: Assist in the planning and preparation of the curriculum to ensure a high-quality educational experience for our children.
  • Setting Preparation: Help prepare the setting/office for the daily programme and maintain a tidy and organized environment, ensuring equipment is clean and in good working order.
  • Key Person: Act as a key person to a group of children, building strong relationships with parents/carers and ensuring each child's needs are recognized and met.
  • Communication: Participate in parent consultation meetings, attend staff meetings, and engage in in-service training courses as required.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children's progress, including learning journals and reports.
  • Safety and Confidentiality: Report any concerns or incidents to the Pre-school Leader, maintaining confidentiality as necessary.
  • Teaching and Support: Deliver high-quality teaching and support to children in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation.
  • Confidentiality and Professionalism: Maintain confidentiality regarding children, their families, or other staff, adhering to Allied Healthcare's policies and procedures.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 childcare qualification that is full and relevant for early years, with at least 1 year's post-qualification experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Understanding and knowledge of implementing the EYFS, good knowledge of safeguarding procedures and policies, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Personal Qualities: A passion for working with children, kind, patient, positive, and compassionate, with a desire to create a positive, nurturing, child-centered educational environment.
  • Certifications: Up-to-date paediatric first aid certificate and basic food hygiene certificate (training will be provided where necessary).
  • DBS Check: The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
