Job Description:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced HGV Driver to join our team. As a CE Night Driver, you will be responsible for transporting flat-packed kitchen furniture components to our client's regional distribution hubs. The role requires a high level of skill and professionalism, particularly in securing the load on the trailer with straps, securing the trailer coupling to the unit, and adhering strictly to the tachograph and WTD rules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transporting flat-packed kitchen furniture components to our client's regional distribution hubs
  • Securing the load on the trailer with straps
  • Securing the trailer coupling to the unit
  • Adhering strictly to the tachograph and WTD rules
  • Working night shifts, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work

Requirements:

  • Category C+E driving license
  • CE entitlement for at least 1 year with active driving throughout that period
  • Excellent strapping skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Benefits:

  • Hourly rate of £18.67 per hour for night work, Monday to Friday
  • Hourly rate of £23.33 per hour for night weekend work
  • Shift premium of £14.66 per night
  • All breaks are paid
  • Minimum 8 hours paid per shift
  • 33 days annual holiday accrual

Induction Training:

As a CE Night Driver, you will be required to attend a full induction shift, which will include visual material related to driving skills, hazard awareness, health and safety, tachograph and highway code knowledge, and a typical night driver's work of trunking products to the client's outlet depots. This will be paid for hours done, with a guaranteed minimum 8 hour payment in place.

Working Conditions:

The role will involve working in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail required. You will be working with a variety of equipment, including articulated Class 1 vehicles and curtain sider trailer equipment. You will also be required to work in a team environment, with good communication and interpersonal skills essential.
