About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Reliability Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  2. Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse, utilizing your technical expertise to resolve issues efficiently.
  3. Utilize the latest tools and technologies to maximize equipment effectiveness and efficiency.
  4. Uphold all health and safety policies and practices, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  5. Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices, sharing your knowledge and expertise to help them grow in their careers.
  6. Contribute to continuous improvement projects, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and best practices across our EU sites.

A Day in the Life

As a Reliability Maintenance Specialist, you will work closely with senior colleagues to undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks, including painting and plumbing. You will also liaise with contractors when external expertise is required. Your flexibility and willingness to work on a range of shifts will ensure our sites are supported around the clock, enabling Amazon to deliver at the speed we're known for.

About the Team

Our RME team is dedicated to maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers. We work together to install automated packaging systems, oversee general maintenance, and repair key distribution equipment. Our team often works during early or late hours to minimize disruption, including night shifts.

Requirements

  1. Served a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject.
  2. Relevant experience as a qualified engineer, with a strong background in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
  3. Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, preferred qualifications include Apprentice Trained, HNC, HND, BSc, or BEng. Relevant experience in condition-based monitoring, working with print and apply machines, or fault-finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems is also desirable.
