Commissioning Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our Construction team at MWH Treatment. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for managing all commissioning activities on site, ensuring work is undertaken safely and in accordance with Company Procedures, specifications, and good working practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out commissioning activities in a safe and compliant manner, delivering schemes on time and to the required standard.
  2. Review and monitor MEICA-related project risks, ensuring that all necessary precautions are taken to mitigate potential issues.
  3. Attend commissioning systems inductions and toolbox talks, staying up-to-date with the latest commissioning procedures and best practices.
  4. Liaise with the Design team to ensure that commissioning requirements are incorporated into the design stage and included in the appropriate scope of works.
  5. Review design deliverables, including FDS, equipment and instrument lists, P&IDs, control philosophy, and telemetry requirements, to ensure that they meet the necessary standards.
  6. Develop and review Compliance & Commissioning Plans in conjunction with design intent, ensuring that all necessary procedures are in place.
  7. Oversee and sign off FAT and SAT, and process witness tests, ensuring that all commissioning activities are completed to the required standard.
  8. Assist in the development of the initial Commissioning Programme, ensuring that all necessary activities are included and that the programme is realistic and achievable.
  9. Attend Progress & Commissioning Meetings, providing updates on commissioning progress and identifying any potential issues.
  10. Compile commissioning documentation and deliverables, ensuring that all necessary information is included and that the documentation is accurate and complete.
  11. Provide input into Commissioning Strategy Reviews and Documentation, ensuring that all necessary procedures are in place and that the commissioning strategy is effective.
  12. Liaise with sub-contractors regarding commissioning deliverables and interfaces, ensuring that all necessary information is shared and that the commissioning activities are completed to the required standard.
  13. Assist Training Coordinators in the compilation of training deliverables and engage in SW Training sessions, ensuring that all necessary training is provided and that the training is effective.
  14. Assist O&M Coordinators in the compilation and review of O&M Manuals, ensuring that all necessary information is included and that the manuals are accurate and complete.
  15. Distribute Commissioning Log / Daily Diary's and any other information from Engineers, ensuring that all necessary information is shared and that the commissioning activities are completed to the required standard.
  16. Assist in the preparation of take over reports, ensuring that all necessary information is included and that the reports are accurate and complete.
  17. Liaise with the complete scheme delivery team, ensuring that all necessary information is shared and that the commissioning activities are completed to the required standard.
