Role Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Children's Nurse to join our dedicated team in Dorset. As part of our nursing team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, family-centered care to children with complex medical needs both at our Corfe Mullen Hospice and within the comfort of their own homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate and skilled nursing care to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being is met.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of carers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Conduct thorough clinical assessments, monitor children's health status, and administer medications as prescribed.
  • Support families through challenging times, providing emotional support, guidance, and practical assistance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RSCN/RN Child Branch), Registered Learning Disability Nurse, RGN or RN Adult qualification.
  • Proven experience in caring for sick children and their families.
  • Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care.

Desirable Requirements

  • Counselling training and/or experience in end-of-life care.
  • ENB 998 or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification.
  • Experience working with children who have complex medical needs.
