Job Title: Disabilities Advisor

About the Role:

Glasgow Caledonian University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Disabilities Advisor to join its Disability Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the university provides an inclusive and supportive environment for disabled students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the needs of disabled students and identify appropriate services and facilities to support their academic success.
  • Develop and implement reasonable adjustments to teaching and assessment practices to ensure equal access for all students.
  • Work collaboratively with academic staff and other teams to promote inclusive education and disability awareness.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to students, staff, and external partners on disability-related matters.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of disability-related training and awareness programs.

Requirements:

  • Experience of advising and assessing the needs of disabled students within a Higher Education setting.
  • Expert knowledge of the relevant legislative framework and current sector-wide practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, supporting disabled students to access blended learning.
  • Excellent IT skills and confidence working across different platforms.
