Job Role
Engaging in the relocation of household and office items to new locations or storage facilities. Collaborating within teams of varying sizes, from small groups to larger teams.
This position operates on a zero-hours contract basis, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role following a successful three-month period demonstrating reliability and skill.
Key Responsibilities
• Conducting household relocations.
• Managing office relocations.
• Facilitating the transfer of goods into or out of storage.
• Handling large-scale specialist projects, such as relocating hospital libraries or educational equipment.
• Moving delicate fine art and furniture.
Daily Tasks
- Safely packaging items prior to relocation or storage.
- Wrapping and protecting furniture using specialized materials for overseas shipping.
- As a specialist packer, you may be required to visit locations beforehand to wrap and secure fragile items like china, glass, artwork, and antiques.
- Utilizing appropriate packaging to safeguard delicate items such as computers or antiques.
- Dismantling larger furniture pieces for safe packing and transport.
- Removing curtains and lifting carpets as necessary.
- Taking down doors, door frames, or windows to facilitate the movement of large furniture.
- Packing items, loading them into vehicles, and ensuring their secure transport.
- Verifying that all goods are secured before departure.
- Driving to the new location, unloading items, reassembling larger pieces, and positioning them according to customer preferences.
- Unpacking and unwrapping furniture and cartons.
Requirements
Working Hours:
Flexible working arrangements as required. Longer distance moves may necessitate overnight stays in accommodations or vehicles.
Driving License: Preferred but not mandatory.
Experience: Previous experience in removal or a similar role is advantageous.
Benefits
£104 per day.
