About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lecturer in Art and Design to join our team at Cheshire College - South & West. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, ensuring they achieve their full potential in the field of Art and Design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Learning: Develop and deliver engaging and effective teaching programs in Art and Design, incorporating a range of mediums and techniques to cater to diverse student needs.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and review of Art and Design curriculum, ensuring it remains current, relevant, and aligned with industry standards.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Design and implement robust assessment strategies, providing constructive feedback to students to support their growth and development.
  • Student Support: Foster a supportive learning environment, providing guidance and mentorship to students to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with colleagues to promote the Art and Design program, highlighting its strengths and benefits to potential students and stakeholders.
Person Specification
  • Qualifications: A degree in Art and Design or a related field, with a teaching qualification (PGCE, DTLLS, or CertEd) or working towards.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience in the field of Art and Design, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Art and Design principles, practices, and industry trends, with the ability to adapt to changing curriculum requirements.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
