The Role

As part of our commitment to becoming a recognized leader in offshore wind, we are seeking a senior structural design engineer to enhance our established offshore wind design team. You will be responsible for delivering innovative project designs, emphasizing the structural integrity of offshore wind foundations, where a profound understanding of client objectives is essential. Our UK-based team serves as a competence center for offshore wind engineering, supporting projects across various regions, including Europe, APAC, and the US, collaborating with leading industry developers.

Your role will involve utilizing existing methodologies and developing new processes for efficient design, focusing on automation and digital transformation. A strong technical foundation in sequentially coupled load analysis for offshore wind sub-structure design is required, along with the ability to critically evaluate and enhance current practices and tools while identifying opportunities for ongoing improvement. Although the primary focus is technical, you will have the chance to expand your skills in areas such as project management, mentoring, proposal development, and service innovation.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A degree in civil, structural, or mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in the offshore wind sector, particularly in delivering FEED and detailed designs for offshore wind turbine sub-structures, focusing on primary or secondary steel design.
  • In-depth knowledge of offshore wind design standards and the ability to confidently discuss design strategies with clients and certification authorities.
  • Strong understanding of structural mechanics, dynamics, and hydrodynamics.
  • A collaborative and adaptable approach, complemented by excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in one or more offshore structural analysis software packages, with coding skills (e.g., Python) being advantageous.
