About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Audit & Accounts Manager to join our team at Public Practice Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our accounting practice, you will be responsible for overseeing audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, from planning to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of audits for a diverse portfolio of clients, from planning to completion.
  • Allocation of audit work in the field and the office.
  • Oversight of the preparation and review of statutory accounts.
  • Oversight of the preparation of tax computations when relevant to audit assignments.
  • Building trusted relationships with clients, providing support and guidance.
  • Delivering commercial awareness, reviewing opportunities for fee development.
  • Presenting work to Partners, completing files to a high standard.
  • Ensuring audit and accounts matters are underpinned by current legislation and compliance.
  • Mentoring and delegating work to an audit team, supporting their learning and development.
  • Representing the firm at networking opportunities and supporting marketing and sales services.

The Successful Applicant

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • ACA or ACCA qualification with demonstrable accountancy practice experience.
  • Strong knowledge of audit and general accounting.
  • Significant experience managing a team of auditors and accountants.
  • Excellent work ethic, self-motivation, and reliability.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good awareness of current affairs.
  • A can-do attitude and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Relationship management and commercial awareness.
