Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Chef Manager to join our Catering and Cleaning Services team at Bradford Council. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for assisting the Chef Manager in the smooth running of the kitchen, ensuring effective instruction and deployment of staff in their duties takes place, as well as performing varied hands-on duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Chef Manager in the planning, preparation, and presentation of meals for students and staff.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of kitchen staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene.
  • Develop and implement new menu ideas and recipes to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Desirable - NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation or equivalent.
  • Essential - Intermediate Food Hygiene.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
