We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team at Superdrug. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain and procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the Own Brand Commercial team to support, monitor, and control new and existing projects and purchases of Own Brand products from suppliers.
- Ensure the tender process is followed diligently and in a manner aligned to policy from project conception/purchase requirement through quotations/tenders to contracts, contract monitoring, and re-tender.
- Record and share information to ensure an accurate UK contract database and feed into the visibility of upcoming contract expiry dates, break options, and potential savings opportunities.
- Support the Own Brand Commercial team in setting up and running tenders and quotation processes and supplier management.
- Run tenders from initial requirement, market analysis, tender/contract management, implementation, post-analysis/lessons learned while working with subject matter experts from the Own Brand buying teams.
- Adopt appropriate negotiation strategies to attain the best terms for the business.
- Develop, build, and maintain effective internal and external relationships to meet the business needs.
- Lead and coach a Junior Procurement Buyer to achieve both business and personal development objectives.
- Take responsibility for own personal and professional development.
- Generalist procurement experience.
- Exposure to running tenders and category management.
- A CIPs qualification or equivalent or experience of working as a Buyer would be an advantage.
- Strong negotiator skills to be able to secure the best outcomes for Superdrug.
- Confidence in making decisions that impact our own brand procurement.
- Strong leadership capabilities to deliver results through people.
