We are seeking a dedicated Fire Safety Engineer to join our dynamic and driven team.
This position emphasizes the execution of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and encompasses the repair of life safety systems while ensuring compliance with Health & Safety protocols within the contract.
Our organization is a prominent national provider of fire safety, security, and electrical solutions tailored for the Social Housing sector. With the acquisition of several new contracts, we are in search of skilled engineers to perform installations, testing, inspections, and repairs as part of our proficient team.
Our primary focus is on career advancement, continuous learning, and safeguarding tenants, making attention to detail, effective communication, and pride in workmanship essential attributes.
Key Responsibilities:- Service, maintain, and install fire alarm systems (BS) and emergency lighting systems, including Nurse Call and Access Control, in accordance with relevant British Standards.
- Monitor and maintain emergency lighting systems and associated equipment, such as fire extinguishers and AOVs.
- Conduct regular inventory checks of van stock and collaborate with the Engineering Technical Supervisor and Procurement Department to ensure adequate supplies.
- Adopt a Health and Safety mindset, identifying potential risks associated with the role and promptly reporting any issues to support ongoing safety for oneself and others.
- A flexible work approach with a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with opportunities for increased earnings through weekend work and participation in an on-call rota.
- A valid UK Driving License.
- Prior experience with fire alarm systems, including knowledge of analogue addressable and conventional systems.
- FIA training (or equivalent) to BS5839-1 Fundamentals.
- Understanding of Health and Safety Regulations in the workplace.
The base salary ranges from £28,295 to £37,440 per annum (for a 40-hour work week), with the potential to earn significantly more through overtime, travel time, and out-of-hours retainer fees. Fire engineers typically work between 45-50 hours, which can substantially enhance earnings.
