As a Project Design Engineer at CDE Group, you will play a crucial role in managing and releasing products as part of a product owner team, as well as individual live projects. Reporting to the Project Design Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely completion, quality, and cost-effectiveness of project design projects from design through to supporting build and installation.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Manage project design projects from design through to supporting build and installation, ensuring timely completion, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Produce accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), layouts, and fabrication drawings for projects, and liaise with customers and suppliers on design specifics, aesthetics, and plant requirements.
- Own a product within a product owner team, ensuring quality and cost are monitored and the product roadmap is realized.
- Ensure the design aspect of assigned products/projects continues to meet and exceed internal and customer expectations.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to ensure design is aligned with manufacturing capabilities.
- Coordinate and update the Project Design Manager on ongoing assigned work status.
- Prioritize and complete project-related snag work promptly.
Requirements
- Education: Degree or HND/HNC level in an Engineering discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in an engineering design office, with experience in BOM creation, draughting, design for manufacture, and 3D CAD.
- Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team, and attention to detail.
- Personal Qualities: Enthusiastic, energetic self-starter able to work on own initiative, available to work flexible hours, willingness and ability to travel, and current driving license and vehicle insured for business use.
