Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adolescent Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Priory Hospital Roehampton. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment and management of adolescent patients with eating disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Leadership
    • Take overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans
    • Assess and manage cases in collaboration with patients, carers, and external stakeholders
    • Chair MDT/CPA meetings and adhere to organizational admission and discharge policies
    • Prepare and supervise reports for Mental Health Act Review Tribunals & Managers Hearings
  • Management and Governance
    • Offer clinical leadership in collaboration with the Ward Manager
    • Ensure the ward complies with organizational and regulatory requirements
    • Participate in ward governance meetings and organizational quality improvement initiatives and service development
  • Academic and Professional Development
    • Participate in monthly academic meetings
    • Deliver case presentations and teaching
    • Engage in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree and MRCPsych
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice
  • Registration on the specialist register with CAMHS CCT/CESR, along with valid AC Status
  • Experience and knowledge in CAMHS
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, as well as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice
  • Commitment to continued professional development
  • Desirable to have significant experience in inpatient CAMHS and treating disordered eating
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
