Analyst, Europe Country Risk

Fitch Solutions is seeking an analyst to join our top-ranked independent research team in London. As a key member of our Europe Country Risk team, you will contribute to providing market intelligence and risk services to senior decision makers in banks, consultancies, multinational corporations, investment funds, and government agencies.

We'll Count on You To:
  • Work as part of the Europe country risk team, providing regular economic, political risk, and financial market analysis and forecasts for a portfolio of countries
  • Write research notes on a daily basis, as well as contribute to monthly and quarterly analysis, producing both country-specific and thematic regional research on economic growth, fiscal and monetary policy, trade, debt dynamics, political risk, financial markets, and demographics
  • Maintain and further develop proprietary data sets that add analytical value
  • Work with sales and clients to represent the team and deliver key views and forecasts in a concise and articulate manner during client engagements and at industry events
  • The role will be based in our London office
What You Need to Have:
  • Degree in economics or a closely related field
  • Relevant background working as a macroeconomic/sovereign risk analyst required, with experience in analytical writing, data management, and forecasting
What Would Make You Stand Out:
  • Strong analytical ability and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to manage own time and adhere to publication deadlines
  • Strong public speaker
  • Ability to work with and analyze large data sets and forecast across key macroeconomic indicators
  • Experience of programming in R/Python and strong skills in quantitative analysis, including data manipulation, statistical modeling, and visualization
  • Fluent spoken and written English, other languages beneficial
  • Strong analytical writing ability
