Position Overview: An opportunity has arisen for a Junior Environmental Planning Specialist within a renowned environmental consultancy, focusing on the execution of significant and intricate land redevelopment initiatives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.

Role Responsibilities: The position entails a balanced mix of office-based tasks and fieldwork. As a Junior Environmental Planning Specialist, your duties will encompass both geo-environmental and geotechnical aspects of project delivery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Project management and financial forecasting
  • Preparation of tenders and bids
  • Conducting Phase 1 assessments
  • Designing Ground Investigations (GI)
  • Producing interpretive reports
  • Developing remediation strategies
  • Conducting risk assessments and validations
  • Overseeing onsite remediation monitoring

Interdisciplinary Collaboration: You will engage with various disciplines to evaluate subsurface conditions, providing geotechnical recommendations, formulating earthwork specifications, and calculating settlement and bearing capacity for large-scale commercial projects.

Qualifications: To excel in the role of Junior Environmental Planning Specialist, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of a 2:1 degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or Geotechnics
  • 1-3 years of experience in a Geo-Environmental or Geotechnical consultancy or contracting environment
  • Experience in managing ground investigations utilizing diverse drilling methodologies
  • Proficiency in report writing, particularly in interpretive formats
