Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Clinical Fellow ST3+ specializing in Oncology to enhance our esteemed Oncology team.
In light of recent strategic advancements as part of the Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP), we have established a unified medical team for Oncology that operates across multiple acute trusts. This role will primarily focus on supporting the oncology services at our facility.
If you possess the necessary qualifications and have accumulated at least two years of Clinical Fellow experience or its equivalent, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Evaluating patients undergoing inpatient chemotherapy.
- Providing guidance and support to junior medical staff within the Oncology wards.
- Assisting Consultants during outpatient clinics.
- Participating in relevant Multidisciplinary Meetings (MDMs) crucial for patient management.
- Offering coverage for colleagues during their leave periods when necessary.
- Engaging in the Acute Oncology Service and contributing to the on-call rota.
- Providing support in the chemotherapy unit as required.
Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team is essential to our department's operations. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure the delivery of high-quality and safe patient care at all times.
Additionally, you will be expected to:
- Maintain accurate clinical records.
- Conduct regular reviews of inpatients and ensure appropriate management plans are established.
- Participate in ongoing medical education supported by funded study leave.
- Engage in clinical audits and maintain proper documentation for this purpose.
- Fulfill administrative responsibilities related to patient care.
