Role Responsibilities:
This permanent position offers 28 days of annual leave, inclusive of public holidays, with opportunities for overtime.
Performance Management:
Establish and uphold hourly performance benchmarks for harvesting staff to ensure that both the quality and quantity of mushrooms harvested align with established standards.
Staff Development:
Provide comprehensive training, coaching, and mentorship to team members and supervisors, fostering skill enhancement and adherence to industry best practices.
Workforce Planning:
Make informed decisions regarding staffing needs, including recruitment and overall workforce strategy to ensure operational efficiency.
Yield Optimization:
Oversee selective harvesting techniques to maximize crop yield and maintain high-quality standards.
Quality Control:
Engage in daily operational meetings to strategize staffing, yield forecasts, and work assignments for the upcoming day. Ensure that customer orders are fulfilled by coordinating picking schedules with sales requirements.
New Staff Training:
Encourage a collaborative and positive team environment to meet daily harvesting goals.
Effective Communication:
Collaborate closely with Harvesting Team Leaders, Supervisors, and other management personnel to address any challenges related to team performance, yield, or equipment.
Performance Monitoring:
Continuously assess harvesting metrics to ensure that staff meet established performance targets. Report any discrepancies to senior management for prompt resolution. Identify and address any safety or performance issues with equipment swiftly.
Regulatory Adherence:
Promote and comply with best practices in line with health, safety, and quality regulations.
Good Manufacturing Practices:
Ensure strict compliance with good manufacturing practices and maintain high housekeeping standards.
Waste Reduction:
Implement strategies to control and minimize waste while actively engaging in continuous improvement initiatives.
This role demands exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication abilities, with a strong emphasis on quality assurance, operational efficiency, safety, and ongoing enhancement within mushroom production operations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in mushroom harvesting (preferred)
