Job Title: Principal Engineer - Site Engineering

Westlakes Recruit is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer - Site Engineering to join our team on a permanent basis with flexible hybrid working in Barrow, Cumbria.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned engineer with a strong background in site engineering to oversee the engineering governance and assurance of NDE, Calibration, and Emergency Response Infrastructure and Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for front-line engineering response, delivering site asset management processes, producing and validating engineering assessments, and managing configuration baseline.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee engineering governance and assurance of NDE, Calibration, and Emergency Response Infrastructure and Systems
  • Front-line engineering response for above systems
  • Deliver site asset management processes to ensure a fit-for-purpose asset base across the site
  • Produce and validate engineering assessments to ensure equipment can achieve its required safety function
  • Manage configuration baseline, ensuring an effective maintenance strategy and carrying out engineering health assessments
Requirements:
  • Degree qualified in a STEM subject, or equivalent experience within Engineering
  • Working and leading multi-discipline areas
  • Engineering experience with systems
Desirable:
  • Exposure within the Nuclear industry and ionizing radiation
  • Understanding of asset management principles
