Job Title: Early Help Worker

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Early Help Worker to join our team at Supporting Futures Consulting Ltd. As an Early Help Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable families with children aged 0-25 years who are going through an autism assessment or have been diagnosed with autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver short-term home-based autism programmes (Cygnet Parenting Programme) to children and their parents/carers/siblings to enhance carer's skills and abilities and thus improve family functioning.
  • Work in close partnership and collaboration with families/carers, Social Services, Schools, and local charities to ensure the family's needs are catered to and that they have access to all relevant support.
  • Provide guidance and support to parents/carers on strategies to manage behaviour and develop strategies to improve family functioning.
  • Work with children with autism and their families to develop and implement individualised support plans.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge, understanding, and skills in working with children and young people with Autism.
  • Working knowledge/awareness of PECS and/or Makaton.
  • Experience of working with parents/families either on a 1:1 basis or through delivering group programmes.
  • Experience of working with children with autism/sound understanding/knowledge of autism.
