Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Farm Manager to play a crucial role in the success of our farming operations in Lincolnshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for contributing to the planning and execution of all crop operations, working closely with the Farm Manager to ensure the smooth running of the farm and the delivery of sustainable, high-quality produce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to planning for the following season, including crop selection, soil preparation, and irrigation management.
  • Deputize for the Farm Manager during absences, ensuring continuity of farm operations and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the Farm Manager to develop and implement sustainable farming practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Monitor and control crop growth, identifying and addressing any issues that may impact yield or quality.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, farmers, and other stakeholders to ensure a stable and reliable supply chain.

Requirements:

  • Proven hands-on farming and people management experience, with a strong understanding of crop production and farm operations.
  • Experience in food manufacture or vegetable supply, with knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines.
