Cloud Infrastructure Specialist

Aviva is seeking a skilled Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our data and analytics platform fin ops team. As a key member of this team, you will play a critical role in improving the effectiveness, cost efficiency, and sustainability of Aviva's AWS infrastructure.

About the Role

  • Conduct continuous analysis of AWS cloud infrastructure, including business usage trends, utilizing tools such as AWS console, Datadog, and Cloudability.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost, energy consumption, and complexity, and drive the resultant backlog of work.
  • Produce reports on progress and success of initiatives, including identifying opportunities, risks, and blockers, and evidence of achieved benefits.
  • Work with business stakeholders to improve usage of AWS infrastructure, saving time, money, and energy consumption, taking into account business requirements, and ensuring that initiatives do not adversely impact internal business processes or customer experience.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure and standards, including experience of working in a mature AWS cloud environment; AWS Cloud certification would be preferable.
  • Ability to summarize technical information appropriately for different audiences, including senior management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong IT background and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
