Job Overview
The Financing Operations team is responsible for overseeing Agency and Middle Office functions, facilitating interactions with various departments within Corporate Investment Banking and other support units, particularly the financing Front Office (including Real Assets, Global Trade, Investment Banking, and Securitized Product Group), Distribution & Portfolio Management, Loan Administration back office, as well as Credit Risk, Legal, and Compliance divisions.
Operating within the Corporate Investment Banking sector, the Middle Office plays a critical role in the COO CIB/Global Banking Operations (GBO)/Financing Operations department, engaging in three primary phases:
1. Structuring
2. Implementation
3. Monitoring and Repayment
This position necessitates the development of strong partnerships with all Front Offices as key stakeholders, alongside collaboration with teams across various bank sectors (Risk, Finance, Loans Administration, Back Office, etc.).
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and provide feedback on deal structures and facility documentation during both the structuring and closing phases (and post-closing follow-up) to ensure the feasibility of transactions and compliance with credit approvals and term sheets.
- Ensure accurate representation of all deals in the Bank's systems (Loan IQ), encompassing deal structure/modeling, security packages/collaterals/assets, and all covenants, along with associated reviews and monitoring activities (scheduled control reports).
- Offer support for all current and prospective Facility Agency roles.
- Ensure that all daily operations are clearly communicated, discussed, and assigned in accordance with departmental procedures and systems (query log/departmental email mailbox, Sword).
- Confirm that all post-closing actions are executed and documented in the bank's systems (including the Middle Office Workbook), ensuring completion of all related check sheets.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
- Familiarity with Investment/Corporate Banking and its offerings.
- Essential knowledge of facility documentation, particularly in the management and monitoring of financial covenants and security packages.
- Preferable experience with Facility and Security Agent roles, including familiarity with systems such as DebtDomain and ClearPar.
- Proactive approach, capable of delivering valuable support to business partners in a reliable, timely, and precise manner.
- Demonstrated flexibility and readiness to embrace new tasks and challenges in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, enabling effective interaction with team members and other business partners at all levels.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on control and risk management, taking ownership and accountability for assigned responsibilities.
