Company Description:
A leading industrial manufacturer is seeking a skilled Project Design Engineer to support design and development activities and assist a small team of design technicians. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business, and the role provides the opportunity to get involved in a variety of tasks including both desk-based project development activities and hands-on activities within the production facility to support design and development work for new product development and existing design improvements.
Responsibilities as a Project Design Engineer:
- Manage technical aspects of projects to ensure customer and legal requirements are met, including on-site support during project design phases.
- Prepare technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs), Design Reviews, and Technical Proposals.
- Approve drawings and technical reports prior to release.
- Coordinate the production of samples, part, and material tests to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Develop a product database and keep it updated at all times.
- Support a small team of junior design technicians.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements for manufacturing.
Skills and Experience as a Project Design Engineer:
- Experience with CAD 2D and 3D - CATIA V5 preferred but conversion training can be provided.
- Experience in producing technical documents, such as BOMs and Technical Proposals.
- Understanding of mechanical assembly.
- Able and prepared to travel within the UK and overseas when required.
Requirements:
- Must live in the UK and be eligible to work and live in the UK.
- Must have relevant experience and skills for the role.
