About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic graduate to join our team as a Special Education Needs Assistant. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for working with children and young people with Autism and associated learning and behavioural needs.

About the School:

The school is a specialist provision for students with Autism and associated learning and behavioural needs. We provide a supportive and inclusive environment that enables our students to thrive and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with Autism and associated learning and behavioural needs
  • Assisting with the implementation of effective communication techniques
  • Working closely with the therapy team to provide designated areas for specialist support
  • Providing 1-1 support for every pupil
  • Using specialist communication methods such as Makaton, PECS, and TEACCH
  • Assisting with the development of a balanced, creative curriculum that focuses on preparation for 'life after school'

Requirements:

  • Psychology degree or specialist SEN training
  • Immediate start depending on availability
  • 85 - 95 per day - PAYE
