About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grounds Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Manchester City Football Club. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality grounds maintenance services across all our sites, ensuring the highest standards of safety, landscaping, and grounds maintenance for our employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality grounds maintenance services at all MCFC sites, adhering to our policies, legislative, environmental, and certifying authorities' compliance, and best practice.
  • Ensure all Health and Safety requirements for each task are met, in line with H&S legislation, best practice, and MCFC H&S policy.
  • Manage allocated ground maintenance tasks from start to completion, including scoping, undertaking, or coordinating and supervising others to ensure timely completion.
  • Monitor the results of the grounds maintenance service and suggest and deliver improvements.
  • Work closely with partners and stakeholders to provide the most suitable environment for the users of grounds facilities.
  • Be available and/or remain on site in the case of emergency repairs/situations until a temporary and safe situation is achieved.

Requirements

  • Experience in Sportsturf and grounds maintenance.
  • Experience in Sports turf or Grounds maintenance regarding winter sports.
  • Experience in marking out and setting up of pitch playing surfaces, setting up of machines prior to use, competency to apply granular products.
  • Working Towards or ascertained NVQ level 2 in sports turf or equivalent.
  • Flexible approach to work, communication, teamwork, highly self-motivated, honest, and reliable, willing to self-evaluate and work towards continuous improvement.
