About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter and Locksmith to join our team at HMP Standford Hill, a CAT D mens prison. As a member of our Facilities Maintenance Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the prison.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform carpentry and locksmith tasks to maintain the prison's facilities and equipment.
  • Work alongside experienced colleagues to provide a safe and secure environment for prisoners, employees, and visitors.
  • Use power tools and machinery to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Display competency in health and safety requirements and adhere to relevant protocols.
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Substantiated experience in a similar role.
  • Competency in the use and operation of power tools and machinery.
  • Basic IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Up-to-date First Aid at Work Qualification.
  • City & Guilds, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 3 in Carpentry or an equivalent qualification.
