Job Title: Head of Product, Technical

Main Purpose of Job

This role will suit an experienced Product Manager with a technical background who has a strong commercial and customer focus. The individual needs to understand the company's technology and be able to translate that into a commercial product offering which is customer, and benefits lead and can be articulated easily to customers as well as internally.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ability to produce or translate technical content into customer/benefits led output including for bids, white papers, brochures, application notes, user guides, technical service updates and input for press releases etc.
  2. To assist with defining the go-to market strategy, helping the Head of Product and Marketing and Commercial Product Manager to understand the technical product positioning, key benefits, and target customers.
  3. In liaison with the Marketing and Communications Manager, assist in the product marketing launch of new products and services incorporating marketing literature, sales presentations, FAQs, User Guides, Internal process documents, terms and conditions and sales benefits and fact sheets.
  4. Provide tech product support in customer meetings, demos, and events.
  5. Requirements capture for internal and external software development projects.
  6. Project Management of in-house projects.
  7. To conduct internal training courses for both sales, support, and other relevant back-office functions.
  8. Technical Service Bulletin distribution in cooperation with local management and sales directors in case of translation needs or other local requirements.
  9. Product competitor analysis and comparison.

Requirements

Mandatory

Technical Product Management experience is essential.

Good knowledge of IP networking.

A professional and flexible approach.

Project Management experience.

Flexible, customer focused and self-motivated and team player.

Intermediate level or above with Word/PowerPoint/Excel.

This job will require occasional travel.

Desirable

Familiarity with modern digital satellite communications & IT systems.

Knowledge of VSAT networks and infrastructure.

Exposure to operating systems (Linux, Windows).
