Job Title: Maritime Data Content Specialist

Windward, a leading maritime AI company, is seeking a skilled Maritime Data Content Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, resilience, consistency, and timeliness of our maritime datasets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify and validate ship ownership and shipping company data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Monitor changes in ownership, addresses, and registrations, including updates due to new sanctions, and ensure timely record updates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide maritime data expertise and support data quality improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality data across our datasets, implementing processes to ensure data quality improvement where needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on data collection processes and investigations.
  • Prospect for new data sources and manage vendor relationships to meet product needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Data Analysis, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in maritime data management.
  • In-depth knowledge of the global shipping industry, including ownership structures and maritime regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data management tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Excel) and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience in data selling and/or data acquisition processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with sensitive data requiring immediate attention.
