Job Title: Associate Director Sustainable Procurement

Maxim Recruitment is seeking an experienced Associate Director Sustainable Procurement to join our client's team in Manchester. As a key member of the procurement team, you will be responsible for leading teams and programmes to help clients achieve their social and environmental targets.

Our client offers a hybrid working model, and you will have the opportunity to work on large-scale flagship projects, managing an outstanding team of specialist procurement and sustainability consultants.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of sustainable procurement strategies and be able to provide management, challenge, and guidance to colleagues as they work on client projects and commissions. You will also be responsible for identifying, designing, delivering, and continually improving clients' environmental performance to meet targets across key sustainability themes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sustainable procurement strategies across multiple projects and commissions
  • Lead project teams and play a key role in our large global transformation programmes
  • Provide management, challenge, and guidance to colleagues
  • Identify and design solutions to improve clients' environmental performance
  • Develop and lead the development of sustainable procurement services and propositions
  • Play a leading role in business generation of sustainable procurement opportunities

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of sustainable procurement strategies and practices
  • Experience of leading teams and programmes in a procurement or sustainability role
  • Ability to provide management, challenge, and guidance to colleagues
  • Strong project management skills and experience of working on large-scale projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
